Our story

Goldies is more than a café, it’s part of our story.

Back in 2008, we had our very first date right here, never imagining that one day we’d be opening our first restaurant together on the very same spot.

Our youngest child is called Goldie and it deepens the love we have for both the building and the name. We have put everything into making Goldies special and these details make it magical to us.

Food has always been at the heart of our lives.

Owner and Executive Chef Toby, known for his beard and his muesli brand “Tony’s by Toby”, has built a reputation for creating fresh, seasonal food that feels both simple and special.

Together, we dreamed of a place where people could gather the way we always have, around a table, with good food and good company.

Toby has worked in high end restaurants in Canberra and he aims to bring a touch of delicacy to the Central West.

Tucked behind two doors and down a quiet outdoor corridor, Goldies opens into a hidden garden, an oasis of the Central West.

By day it’s fresh and vibrant, and by night it transforms into a softly lit restaurant where stories are shared over beautiful food and our curated drink menu.

Goldies is our first restaurant together, but in many ways, it feels like coming home, to where it all began.
